Clyde Man’s Ordeal Over After Charges Dropped

FREMONT – A man sent to prison and later released on appeal said he is relieved the charges have been dropped by a special prosecutor and his ordeal is over.

Patrick Baker Sr., 42,spent nearly 14 months in prison after being convicted in April 2015 by a jury in Sandusky County after a 30-minute trial and just eight minutes of deliberation.

After being found guilty of two felony counts of complicity to commit burglary and one felony count of grand theft by a Sandusky County jury, was sentenced immediately to 60 months in prison by Sandusky County Common Pleas Court Judge John Dewey.

Baker said he remembers the day he was sentenced to prison and is happy that more than two years later he is a free man.
